What Should I Expect From My First Appointment?
- Your first appointment will start with your practitioner taking some personal details before completing a detailed history about your injury/pain. This will then be used alongside and assessment of the area to narrow down a diagnosis and direct the treatment plan.
- Your practitioner will always try and be a gentle as possible and try not to aggravate your injury/pain unless necessary.
What Should I Bring With Me?
- Bringing any previous information about your injury or any imaging results you may have previously had will aid your practitioner and their assessment process.
- Also any information on any medication you may have ben prescribed would also be helpful.
What Should I Wear?
- Loose fitting clothes such as a gym top and shorts makes it easier for your practitioner to assess your injured area e.g. shorts are a great idea for back, knees and hips due to needing to see the surrounding muscles.
- It is recommended that females wear a sports bra if they are booked in for an assessment on their neck or shoulder as the practitioner will need to access the whole area.
- If your practitioner has to ask you to remove any clothing for treatment, this will be kept to the minimum and at the upmost discretion possible.
Can I Bring Someone With Me?
- Yes, we have the space to accomodate for 1 family member/friend to be in the clinic room while you have your assessment/treatment
- Under 18's are required to have a parent/guardian present during any of their appointments. Their appointment will not proceed if this is not followed.
